2009 Program Information


Franklin Pond Chamber Music will take place each Monday for 5 weeks at 4835 Franklin Pond Road, Atlanta, Georgia. The dates are Mondays, June 22 & 29, and July 6, 13 and 20 from 9:30 a.m. until 4:45 p.m; all students will then participate in a 4-day retreat to Jekyll Island July 24-27. The final concert will be in Atlanta on July 28 at 8:00 p.m. Four student string quartets will be formed by audition and each quartet will be required to rehearse together for a minimum of 4 hours per week between sessions. Every participant must attend all sessions for the full day and must attend the Jekyll Island retreat. The success of this program depends entirely upon the commitment of each person involved. Total tuition for the 6 weeks including the Jekyll Island retreat is $1250. Important Dates
March 1 Application and $35 non-refundable deposit due. Deposit is credited to tuition fee.
March 28-30 Auditions; appointments to be scheduled upon receipt of application. All auditions are live. Applicants will be notified of results as soon as possible after the last day of auditions.
April 20

Confirmation of attendance and non-refundable partial tuition of $400 due.
(The full balance of $1215 may also be paid by this date)

June 1 Tuition balance due for those who choose the partial payment plan.
June 22 First session of Franklin Pond Chamber Music and Parents Meeting (10:00 am)
JUly 24-27 Franklin Pond Retreat on Jekyll Island, Georgia
July 28 Dress rehearsal and Final Concert in Atlanta
